In the Shadow of Princes
Known by countless names passed down through the ages, most of which signify simply “the monster,” the name commonly ascribed to this hulking metal-clad behemoth is the name he gives himself. XHAN, an acronym the meaning of which has been lost over the ages and is known to only a knowledgeable few, had been the Lord Sentinel of the Princes’s feared Steel Legion during the Dynasty of the Hidden Empire.
He sustained the rule of the Princes for centuries with boundless physical might and a penchant for cruelty and destruction unparalleled in human history. His many military victories over the years bespeak a brilliant tactical mind as well as a prodigious battlefield presence nearly unequalled in the annals of military achievement. But countless actions of slaughter against innocents and non-combatants reveal XHAN’s abiding hatred for human life, an inhuman rage that hopelessly eclipses the valour of this being, this engine of death heralding the end of humanity.
XHAN disappeared from the stage of history after the Battle of New York and was long believed dead. He has resurfaced in the past two years and subsequently come under the domination of Emperor Golan Trevize of Rome, Primus Archonis of the Phoenix Order. Trevize has kept XHAN on a tight leash and XHAN’s power has been used sparingly if decisively under Trevize’s watch.
